The Shared Yard
Timber courtyard housing for 120 people on a former bus depot. What happens when the most generous room in a building is outside?
Forty homes wrap a courtyard that works like a shared living room: a long table, a tool shed, a laundry with a view and a children's route that never crosses a road. The structure is cross-laminated timber on a concrete podium, designed for disassembly.
