A family-owned contractor that still fabricates its own steel, employs its own erectors and answers its own tender desk. 340 people, two yards, one standard.
Our story
Jim Corran started erecting other people's steel in Attercliffe in 1979 with one partner, a flatbed and a crane he borrowed on Fridays. By 1994 clients were asking him to take on the whole building — so he did, and Corran became a design & build contractor.
Today we design, fabricate and build industrial buildings up to 80,000 m². Our Teesside shop processes 9,000 t of steel a year, and every frame we erect is put up by our own crews. That control is why we can promise dates — and keep them.

No waiting for hire companies at the critical moment. Our fleet is serviced in-house and booked from the same programme as the steel.

Everyone goes home in the same condition they arrived. We stop a job before we hurt someone.
We publish the programme on day one and report against it weekly — good news and bad.
If we drew it, we fabricate it. If we fabricate it, we erect it. No gaps to fall between.
