The project

A facade that moves 40 times a day.

Seville summers reach 45 °C. The client wanted floor-to-ceiling glass with a view of the Giralda and no internal blinds. Our answer: horizontal aluminium blades on every floor, grouped in 62 zones that rotate independently, guided by a weather station on the roof.

In winter the blades open flat to let low sun warm the floors; in summer they close at noon and open again at dusk to bring the evening light in.
